Since its creation in 2013, Pomelo-Paradigm has supported French and European companies in the production of their regulatory reports, in particular Universal Registration Documents and Sustainability Reports.
Since most of Pomelo-Paradigm’s clients are large listed companies, we have been assisting them for the past year in preparing their CSRD reports. This is evidenced by the daily publications during this filing period.
This preparation of the CSRD is a long process which includes:
After all these efforts, and convinced of the importance of bringing more transparency and comparability to ESG reports, the announcement of the Omnibus law a few months ago left us speechless – like many European players.
This is why we decided to join WeAreEurope. This collective brings together professionals who want to defend the European economic model and its Green Deal—the CSRD, the CSDDD, and the Green Taxonomy— targeted by the Omnibus.
Joining the WeAreEurope collective represents an opportunity for Pomelo-Paradigm to share what we observe every day with our customers and partners, to report on what is happening on the ground and to report on the need for a robust CSRD that is accessible to all companies.
Since its publication, we have studied the directive extensively, followed by the draft ESRS taxonomy published by EFRAG. We are therefore aware of the complexity of the CSRD and the effort it can represent for companies. But we also saw in this new directive an opportunity for companies to strengthen their communication with investors and consumers, and to boost their attractiveness thanks to data with relevant granularity. Information whose scope will soon be multiplied thanks to emerging technologies, particularly with the development of AI for report analysis, and the upcoming arrival of ESAP in Europe.
This is why, as WeAreEurope maintains, we are not against simplifying the text and its regulatory requirements. We simply believe that the disclosure requirements to which companies are subject must be ambitious and realistic. Not out of ideology, but out of pragmatism: the CSRD is a tool that will allow companies to objectively assess their risks and opportunities in the face of the challenges ahead, investors to make informed choices, and Europe to remain competitive in the years to come.
WeAreEurope is launching a major survey of companies in Member States in order to report to the European institutions on their real expectations and their position on the CSRD.
Share your opinion in less than 10 minutes by completing the survey. It is available until April 30, in 24 languages, and is open to all 30 countries of the European Union.
